Coming Full Circle
This song, which originally started out as a literal remake of one of my older songs (Sixth Circle) ended up evolving into something considerably more elaborate and quite a bit different. Though it shares the initial acoustic arpeggio piece of the original, nothing else has remained the same. This time around, the piece is considerably heavier and more complex, featuring MUCH heavier (and more elaborate) guitar work, full scale orchestration, more elaborate guitar solos and much more aggressive drumming.
This song is something of a technical accomplishment for me due to the massive amounts of tracks I had to deal with (I believe it clocked in at almost 40 tracks). Mixing and mastering this proved to be a difficult but ultimately rewarding process, and I learned an enormous amount from it. If you liked songs such as "Ascension" or "Turning of the Tide" from me, then this song is done much in the same style, so it should be right up your alley.

Fun Ninjam Session, and some updates..
So I just came out of a pretty fun Ninjam session with a few guys and I thought maybe i'd share it. It has a really strong Pink Floyd sort of vibe, it's a bit noisy but I really love the progression we had going on. Unfortunately it kind of falls apart some towards the middle because the bassist ended up leaving, but ah well, that's the nature of the beast when dealing with online services
. This particular piece clocks in at about 6 and a half minutes, it features me on rhythm guitar, some excellent drumming by my brother Chris (Katasdf), RAzzeL on keyboard, some extremely impressive lead guitar by Venusio, and bass being played by Doomer. There's a lot of screw ups but that's live unrehearsed playing for you
I've included a stream of it and also a direct download link for anyone that wants it as this won't appear in my actual music archive.

As for the other updates.. some people might be pleased to know that i'm currently in the process of a remake of Sixth Circle, though at this point it's sort of starting to turn into a whole re-write based on the original acoustic riff. This time around i'll be featuring orchestral instruments prominently and the song will likely have a much heavier progression and a much more full sound. I haven't completely decided which direction i'm going to go with it, but it will definitely have a heavier emphasis on the acoustic aspect that the original song was based on. Because the song is taking a bit of a different direction compared to the original it's likely I won't release it under the same name but as a new song entirely, but i'll cross that bridge when I get to it, for now, I just need to finish the damned thing.. ![]()
